Join us for an evening exploring the lives of the men, women, and children enslaved by the first two generations of the Stockton family at Morven. Canceled - Finding Peter Hill: The Life and Times of a New Jersey Clockmaker

Due to unforeseen circumstances, this program has been canceled. Join Morven’s Interim Director and Curator Beth Allan for a special evening exploring the life and work of New Jersey clockmaker, Peter Hill. Hill is the earliest documented Black clockmaker in America. It is believed that he made over one hundred tall case clocks during his lifetime, learning the craft while enslaved and then purchasing his own freedom.
