Essential Duties:


  • With input from the Garden Committee, Executive Director and Deputy Director/Curator, develop and maintain Morven’s historic property, including several themed gardens.

  •  Ensure the grounds are presentable to daily visitation.

    • Create a maintenance/work calendar for staff and volunteers to ensure consistency in grounds presentation.

    • Perform tasks such as weeding, planting, mulching, pruning, spraying, etc. to ensure that Morven’s gardens and ground are kept in the best possible condition.

    • Manage contracts for mowing and special treatments.

  • Manage Garden workers

    • Supervise and work alongside garden volunteers.

    • Train Garden Tour Guides.

    • Oversee the annual summer internships Isles.

  • Manage the annual Morven in May Plant Sale, including sourcing plants, creating catalogue, managing deliveries, sale set up and pricing.  Manage sale volunteers and staff the event.

  • Develop the annual budget

  • Assist in Garden related programming

  • Other duties as assigned.
