Every year, in honor of Independence Day, Morven hosts a FREE event to celebrate our American heritage at the home-turned-museum of Richard Stockton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence
Guests are invited to use the Princeton Theological Seminary or Monument Hall parking lots, or may park on the street. There will be no parking at Morven since many children will be on the grounds.
Weather: This event is SHINE only (due to the outdoor activities, it will be cancelled if there is prolonged rain).

Live Bluegrass Music by Chickens and Such
Relax on Morven’s Great Lawn and listen to the sounds of live bluegrass music.
Meet Morven’s own Annis Boudinot Stockton will stroll the grounds and gardens ready to answer questions and take photos with Jubilee attendees.
1:00 p.m.: Annis will recite her poetry on front porch.
1:45 p.m.: Join Annis and a group of volunteer readers in a group recitation of the Declaration of Independence.
Sign the Declaration of Independence: An opportunity for children of all ages to sign the Declaration of Independence as Morven’s first owner, Richard Stockton, did. Located on the Great Lawn.
Revolutionary Fan Craft and Large Community Art Painting Project with the Arts Council of Princeton: Children of all ages can design and create their own revolutionary fan to take home and contribute to the large community painting project of a portrait of Morven. Located on the East Wing Lawn.
Rare Stockton Papers: Open Archive of actual Stockton documents and Scavenger Hunt with the Historical Society of Princeton in Morven’s Stockton Center.
Tintype Photo Session with Daniel Leocadi* Located on the Great Lawn.
Revolutionary Photo Booth with Vine Photography* - Located on the Great Lawn.
Interactive Patriotic Chalk Wall - Located in Morven’s Courtyard.
Prize Winners Announced at 2:30 p.m. on the Great Lawn
Visit Morven’s welcome tent anytime before 2:20 in the center of the Great Lawn to enter to win prizes including tintype photo session and more!
Garden Tours: 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. in the Colonial Revival Garden and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Demonstration Garden
Self-Guided Tour of the Museum
The museum is free and open for visitation. Formal tours will not be given, however docents are available inside to answer questions. Children 12 & under must be accompanied inside the Museum by Parent/Guardian.
Timed entry may be required.
