Education and Programs Coordinator
Schedule: Temporary, part-time, 20 hours a week for 12 months

Morven Museum & Garden seeks a part-time, temporary Education and Programs Coordinator. The successful candidate will work alongside the Curator of Education and Public Programs to maintain a robust public program schedule, manage the museum’s volunteer docent program, and develop new educational opportunities for a K-12 audience. This is a 12-month, part-time position working on site.

Duties
Support the creation and implementation of school programming and resources (field trips, class visits, lesson plans, and teacher professional development) for a K-12 audience
Manage volunteer docent (tour guide) recruitment, training, and scheduling
Assist in the planning and running of public programs (research, scheduling, speaker outreach, content development)
Daily administrative support (drafting correspondence, preparation of presentations, processing invoices, and other general office and clerical duties)
Qualifications
B.A. and 2 years work history, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in American history and education (classroom and/or informal learning environments).
Excellent writing, research, and communication skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to handle several projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Ability to work well as a member of a team.
Comfortable leading tours, school visits, and meetings with audiences ranging from children to adults.
Administrative and organizational skills, including experience with museum databases, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Zoom.
Physical ability to lift or carry 25lbs, frequently use hands for simple grasping or pushing or pulling; occasionally bend, squat, climb, reach overhead; and the ability to work on ladders and ability to maintain balance.
Must be available to work some evenings and weekends for public programs.
