As the home of a signer of the Declaration of Independence and five New Jersey governors, Morven has played a role in the history of New Jersey and the nation for more than 200 years. Morven’s history is America’s history, and we welcome you to experience it through the lens of this National Historic Landmark.

Morven Revealed: Untold Stories from New Jersey’s Most Historic Home
As 2024 marked our twentieth anniversary as a museum we took the opportunity to dig into our collections to share some of Morven's lesser-known stories. What do we uncover when we consider the everyday moments that made Morven a home for over two hundred years?
Passholder Policies
- Each pass admits one adult for free general admission.
- Children age 6 and under are admitted free with an adult passholder.
- Passes are valid only during regular museum hours: Wednesday–Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Passes must be checked out from a participating library and presented upon arrival at the Museum Shop.
- Only one pass per adult is permitted per visit.
- Library passes are for general admission only and do not include entry to special events or programs.
- Visitors using a library pass must comply with all
museum visitor policies during their visit.
Guided Tours
Our docent-led tours are approximately 45 minutes in length and present an overview of Morven's permanent exhibition Historic Morven: A Window Into America’s Past. Regular tours are offered at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, pending docent availability. Please confirm a docent will be available by contacting the museum Shop on the day of your visit.
Morven’s special exhibitions are self-guided. Special gallery walks and talks are often scheduled throughout the run of an exhibition. During the Festival of Trees (mid-November through first week in January), no formal tours of the museum are offered.
