This brand new virtual series, Morven’s Curator Corner, invites you for a free behind-the-scenes look at new acquisitions, research, and exhibition development with Morven’s curatorial department. Grab your lunch and join us virtually!
The first program in the series will feature two new acquisitions to the museum’s collection related to statesman Elias Boudinot. Among other accolades, Elias Boudinot was an intelligence officer and prisoner-of-war commissary during the Revolutionary War, President of the Congress of the Confederation between 1782 and 1783, and Director of the U.S. Mint. Boudinot was a frequent visitor to Morven. He was the brother of Annis Boudinot Stockton, studied law with Annis’ husband and signer of the Declaration, Richard Stockton, and married Stockton’s younger sister Hannah.
Deputy Director and Curator, Beth Allan, will touch on Boudinot’s life and career, explore his relationship with Morven, and share details about a newly acquired painting and drawing that will help the museum better interpret his story.
The program will be held via Zoom webinar and is offered free of charge. Pre-registration is required in order to receive a link. The presentation will be recorded and shared with all registrants following the event.
