visitor policies
Please help Morven’s staff protect the historic collections and works of art on view in the museum by following the rules listed below.
- Museum guests are welcome to take non-flash photos during their visit except where signage indicates photography is not permitted. Tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed inside the museum. Additional information regarding photography and videography on our site is available on our Photography Policy page.
- Please refrain from touching art, furniture and historic artifacts in the exhibitions. Even the slightest contact can damage the surface of a painting, discolor stone, and even rust metal.
- Keep a safe distance between you and each work of art. Do not lean on any collection furniture or display cases. Look for visitor seating throughout the galleries.
- Running, pushing, and roughhousing are not allowed.
- No food, beverages, snacks, plants, or use of ink pens is allowed inside the museum Feel free to use our outdoor tables and seating to enjoy a snack!
- No smoking, open flames, or weapons of any type are allowed in the museum or on the grounds
- Due to the small size of our historic rooms, strollers are not permitted inside the museum. Strollers may be parked on Morven’s covered porch.
- Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or a member of a supervised group. Please keep small children within your direct control when inside the museum.
- Small bags or backpacks are allowed in the museum if they are worn on the front of the body. You may also leave them with the Visitor Services staff member on duty.
- Trained service animals are welcome in the museum and Stockton Education Center. No other pets or animals are permitted.
