New Jersey Tombstones
Learn about the extraordinary history of gravemarkers and burial sites in New Jersey. The first exhibition to look closely at the state’s carvers and cemeteries,
Grave Matters will explore what these markers reveal in terms of regional craft and symbolic tradition. The show will also examine the importance of preservation and the value gravemakers have to historians and genealogists.

A Call for New Jersey Firefighting History!
Morven is researching an exhibition on firefighting history, and our curators are looking for objects and ephemera specific to New Jersey! We are interested to know of:
- Firefighting equipment, uniforms, and gear
- Photographs and memorabilia related to NJ firefighters and firehouses
- Documents, such as correspondence and certificates
We are hoping to represent fire departments across the state. Does your museum or historical society have something to share? Does your family care for objects like these? We’d love to learn about it! To share please fill out the form below.
