“Revolutionary Road Trip” Passes through Princeton

Author and PBS host Darley Newman, joined by a panel of featured speakers, will discuss her new book, "Revolutionary Road Trip: Hidden Stories from America's Founding Journey." 

Morven is pleased to host author and PBS host Darley Newman for a free panel discussion featuring her new book, "Revolutionary Road Trip: Hidden Stories from America's Founding Journey." On this “Revolutionary Road Trip” stop in Princeton, Darley will be joined by local cultural practitioners and interpreters sharing New Jersey’s unique “hidden stories” from America’s founding. 

This program is organized by the Princeton Public Library in partnership with Morven Museum & Garden, the Historical Society of Princeton, and the Princeton Battlefield Society. This is a free event. Pre-registration is requested.

The panel is moderated by Dan Linke, University Archivist and Deputy Head of Special Collections, at Princeton University. 

Copies of “Revolutionary Road Trip” will be available for purchase from Labyrinth Books. Darley Newman will sign copies of the book at the conclusion of the panel discussion. Light refreshments will be provided. 

Featured Author

She is a graduate of The George Washington University.

Moderator

Daniel Linke joined Princeton University Library in 1994 after working at the New York State Archives, the University of Oklahoma, and the Cleveland History Center. He has served in leadership roles within Special Collections at both the Mudd Manuscript Library (which he headed from 2002-2019) and Firestone Library (2019-present). In all of his positions, he has worked to increase access to collections by employing modern processing methods, technological innovations, and digitization. Notable projects that he has been a part of include the digitization of the student newspaper and other local publications; the Princeton and Slavery Project; the Princeton Archives, Research, and Collaborative History (ARCH) program; and working with various university initiatives related to campus iconography and history. He has a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts from Case Western Reserve University with a focus on 20th-century political and social history and has also taken doctoral courses in American history at Rutgers University.
