School programs

Interested in bringing in a school or homeschool group? Discover Morven’s history through a guided field trip or a class visit, led by a Morven staff educator.

In Fall 2026, Morven Museum & Garden is launching our K-12 programs with two pilot lesson plans. Through each lesson plan, students are encouraged to learn about Morven as part of Princeton and U.S. history, as well as to personally connect with those topics. 


Morven’s educators will help you to shape a wonderful experience for your students. Whether it’s a guided field trip, or an in-class visit, we will bring Morven’s story to you in a fun, informative, and interactive way. 


Pricing is $10 per student. Educators and chaperones can attend free of charge with a school group.

We're currently booking for Spring 2027! Please be aware these are pilot lesson plans for 3rd through 5th grade. We will ask educators to provide feedback on their experience following the visit to help us grow programming moving forward.

Historic Morven: A Window into America’s Past

Who has lived in Morven? This lesson introduces students to Morven and its diverse residents throughout over 200 years of history. Students will closely analyze primary and secondary sources to learn about how Morven holds stories of generations of men, women, children, enslaved people, and immigrant workers.

Helen Hamilton Stockton: Keeper of the Flame

Individuals make up a community, and one’s power to make change is greater than one could ever imagine. Students will learn about Helen Hamilton Stockton, who advocated and completed significant changes for Morven during her lifetime. Using Helen’s impact as an example, students will explore how an individual can initiate change in their community, as well as how themselves can participate in the action of change.
