Garden Volunteering
Volunteering with our horticulturalists is a hands-on way to connect with nature, learn about native and heirloom plantings, and contribute to the preservation of a treasured landscape.
Responsibilities
Garden volunteers are generally responsible for:
- Assisting with seasonal planting and pruning
- Weeding, mulching, and general garden maintenance
- Supporting special garden projects and events
- Helping create a welcoming and well-tended environment for visitors
Schedule & Commitment
Garden volunteer shifts are typically scheduled on Thursday mornings while the gardens are in season, from March through November. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least two shifts per month.
Morven welcomes groups (schools, colleges, businesses, service organizations, etc.) interested in garden volunteer days. Please note that we try to keep groups to 10 volunteers per session. If you're interested in learning more or scheduling a group volunteer day, please contact Keren Guo, Education and Programs Coordinator, at kguo@morven.org.
